Mountains 2 Oceans owner Trent is a long time client of mine as we have worked together over various projects as he has developed products for a number of brands.
M2O was his brand and was focused around running and cycling sports accessories. Like compression sock, water bottles and skin care products.
I did two shoots for Trent, one early on for the skin care products while we were shooting a indoor bike trainer. This was a simple brief. Show the product in an environment it will be used in.
The second shoot. Was more in depth and required more planning and organizing. M2O had a huge compression sock range they wanted to market to runners. So I was asked to find some talent, find some locations and shoot it. Trent has full faith in me and let me do what I wanted so this was a very fun shoot.
I like to think the results speak for themselves. But I know when the client is happy when they tell me they are having a hard time picking their favourites from the final images and “can I have more than agreed” is asked. A good place to be in
Scouting local trails at the time we were to shoot really allowed me to work quickly. The talent, Laura, was keen for the work but making her run all day would start to show in the photos if I was not prepared. Working closely with other runners I know what body positions work and those that don’t so timing was key for each frame. Not did we want the runner looking good I needed the product to stand out, branding in view, and colours to pop. There is not much I would change for this shoot. Maybe making it two days and having a male subject for day two but the client was happy and that is the main goal for me when working with brands.
