CaseStudy- Omeo ShootOut

ClientBrief

Rocky Trail asked to produce videos for a new format of event they had developed to add to their existing event weekends, The ShootOut.  Its utilizes existing pump tracks often found at MTB parks.

Omeo council were in the process of developing a new MTB park and their pump track was complete and wanted to host an event to kick off its use to public.

The brief was to produce a number of videos that focused on different aspects of the event, the council and Rocky Trail themselves.

The final decision was 3x short videos one each focusing on coaching, the council and the event/race itself.

Along with these three videos would be 2x more that showcased the Rocky Trail and their ShootOut event format.

VideoResults

I love new locations and events and it is great to see councils and government understanding the need for more MTB parks so people can get outside and be active.

Omeo have built a great pump track right in the heart of town and now the trails are complete I have no doubt they are reaping the return with travellers coming to the region.

This event was simpler than others as it was all based around a single park in town, no need to chase athletes all over through the bush.   This allowed me to shoot more ideas with a select few of riders who were coaching, show off some of the town and get the drone up in the air to see what it all looks like from above.  What many don’t know is that the pump track itself spells out the towns name, Omeo.

Part of the goal of any video is to ensure it is ticking boxes for the parties involved.  There were a few involved in this job and it was great to get feedback about the results.  The videos shared the news about Omeo and I have since heard from many riders about return visits to the area to ride.  Job done.
