Event photography can vary depending on your needs. It can include anything from action during the event, event centre, presentations, crowds and sponsors, volunteers, location, drone aerials, and more. I will discuss your needs prior to the event and make a shot-list of must have to ensure you have what you need. Additionally I will photograph images that I have come to learn from years of experience that work well for promoting events. If the event is taking place in a remote location or the course takes in remote areas and images are needed from key points, a scout the day/week prior to the event will be made to make a plan to get to these locations based on time and other needs.
Images generally are provided in JPG format as this is the standard most people need and use. However, any format can be provided based on your needs. TIF, PSD, PNG, GIF are also possible options amongst others. Multiple formats and image sizes can also be provided. If you need images ready for social media, website or print then copies for these all can be provided for each final image so you are not having produce them yourself. During the planning of your shoot these can be discussed and planned for ahead of time. If unsure what you need then explanations can be provided based on your intended uses.
A lifestyle shoot is more complicated as it has multiple factors to consider. Things to consider include but are not limited to: location, talent, number of products, time of day, location access and permits, single day or multiple and more. After an initial discussion about your needs and desired outcome from the shoot we can plan for the above options to work out how best to proceed. Ideally a location scout would be made to ensure site location is suitable, then a shotlist of must have shots is made, to finally planning a date monitoring forecasted weather. A backup date is always suggested with a timeframe for making the call to proceed or postpone giving all parties ample time to prepare.
I find it is more effective to utilise different studios based on the shoot brief. Some shoots require large space for products and others require nothing more than a small room. Using a studio that is located that matches your needs and is close to your location makes for a easier and more cost efficient job. After discussing your shoot needs and getting to know your products we can discuss a few options and the associated costs with each.
Photos generally take a day to a week to be edited and returned. The turnaround is dictated by the number of photos and the type of shooting and editing required. Event photos are time sensitive and require less editing so are returned in 24-48hrs A smaller selection can be provided in 3hr if needed. Commercial shoot images usually require more editing and will take longer to be delivered. This could be a 3-4days to a week. When booking these bigger shoots its best to discuss your required delivery date to ensure time is allocated for editing after the shoot.
